I have had many problems with neck and back. Other surgeons had either limited abilities or their office was run terribly. Also had pain management doctors that were terrible as will no longer be subject to their cruelty. Dr. Josey AND his office are outstanding. His surgical skills are top notch and he is personable and not snobbish. His staff is the same. Procedures are done in their facility which does have the ability to keep you overnight if needed. Again, this practice is OUTSTANDING!

Dr. Josey assessed my sciatica in my left leg, specifically lumbar radiculopathy which gave me intense pain in my left hip and down my leg, made me limp and weakness in that foot. Dr. Josey reviewed my MRI, listened to my complaints, assessed my mobility and pain, then quickly diagnosed me with the cause being a broken off piece of my L4/L5 disc impinging on my nerve root, thus causing the lumbar radiculopathy and significant decrease in my quality of life. He scheduled a microdiscectomy within a week to remove the offending disc fragment and I had pain relief as soon as I woke up from surgery. I still had to recover from the incision pain in my lower back, but it was nothing compared to the pain and suffering I had before the surgery. Dr. Josey comes highly recommended by other doctors in the field. I had follow up visits and he referred me to physical therapy to increase my strength in that leg. My pain doctor told me if there was any doctor he would have spinal surgery, he would choose Dr. Josey. I agree! C. Wise.

Timely and professional. My diagnosis was accurate and treatment plan was spot on. Dr. Josey spent time explaining all my options starting with his recommended option which was the least intrusive. He offered pain meds as appropriate which I declined given I thought/can make a recovery without them. I trust this doctor without question. Not a pill pusher or trying to get you on an operating table. My diagnosis is a broken back. And it does hurt.

My initial bill office visit was going to be several hundred out of pocket and I have private insurance due to deductible not being met. I told their staff I had medical bills being submitted and that I was sure my deductible would be met before his office billed. So they only had me pay what they estimated my bill would be provided my deductible was met. My followup appointment was $35 which was actually my balance from my initial appoinment . Their working with me on this first appointment saved me hundreds out of pocket on my initial visit. I was correct in that Other medical bills just hadn't hit yet. My followup was only $35 due from the original appoinment.

I am very happy with the care I received from Dr. Josey. From my initial appointment through two back surgeries and the post operative care, I was never in doubt that Dr. Josey truly wanted to relieve my back and leg pain in the least invasive way possible. He always explained what he saw and then gave me the options. It has now been over two years since the last surgery and the only time I have any pain is when I make a bad choice to lift/move 100 lb + items on my own.

Amazing doctor !!!!

I had been to 2 other neurosurgeons who both recommended surgery. I saw Dr. Josey as a third opinion. He recommended that I try an injection before surgery. He took me that day to do the injection because I was in so much pain. I felt instant relief from the injection and have never looked back. I am back to waterskiing and dancing with no pain and no scar on my back. He is amazing

Dr. Josey is a MIRACLE WORKER

I have seen several doctors through the years, and Dr. Josey tops them all. I have never seen a doctor with such a combination of compassion and confidence. He immediately made me feel at home and thoroughly discussed my condition in a way that I understood. This is unlike any doctor I have seen. He told me he could fix my problem, and everything from preop to surgery to postop occured exactly how he said. I am now pain free for the first time in years and I owe it all to Dr. Josey. He is a true miracle worker.

I really loved going to Dr. Josey. He not only listened carefully, but he carefully treated me and I have never been happier. I went in with neck and upper back pain and he instantly wanted to help. He suggested exercises until surgery. Thank you So much Dr. Josey!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I am new to Austin. I am a Medical Professional. I am looking for multiple important characteristics in my unplanned need for a Spine Specialist. I found every characteristic in Dr. Josey's practice. I was late for my first appointment due to reason beyond my control. I was treated like a human being by the office staff who rescheduled my much needed appointment. Dr. Josey's entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, pleasant and explained treatment options with the most conservative option stressed. I did not have to wait long to be examined and my discomfort from my injury was absolutely acknowledged. I was able to lie down. If I require surgery or injections I will return to Dr. Josey.

Dr. Josey and staff are by far the best I have ever encountered from the moment you enter his office you know you are the # 1 priority and you will be taken care 101%. i HAVE HAD TWO SURGERIES AND THE QUALITY OF CARE WAS EXCELLECT i CAME OUT BOTH A NEW PERSON FREE OF PAIN AND COMPLICATIONS. HIS ASSISTANT CARLOS IS ONE OF THE BEST IN HIS FIELD. Dr. Josey has been a lifesaver for me and my needs.

Good Doctor. Good bedside manner, seems concerned and is very knowledgable. Stait foward and honest doctor; qualities that are waning in modern medicine. Would use him again if needed.

Doctor Josey was the 3rd surgeon I met with for a disc problem in my neck. The first surgeon and I did not communicate well, the second surgeon had me going into an office to set an appointment for surgery after 5 MINUTES of dicussion re: a major herniation C2/3. His comments "Wow, that is a mess, we have to perform surgery,see lady in hall". Dr Josey noticed the same major herniation in my neck,but he is the only Doctor (I have seen many others (Pain Mgmt, etc) to identify a loss of disc 2 levels down from the herniation. He explained that the loss of this disc was probably what was causing most of my neck and arm (nerve) pain. After a 45 minute discussion, I left his office feeling like I finally had a Doctor who not only listens, but actually new what he was talking about. I had surgery (disc fusion) and Dr Josey could not have done a better job. I could not believe I had surgery. My situation is unique, I actually came out of surgery with better range of motion. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
